Donald Martel, 67, of Georgetown and Jessica Parisella, 42, of Danvers were both indicted for counts of medicaid false claims and larceny over $1,200 on Monday, Dec. 5, Attorney General Maura Healy reports.
The two allegedly submitted false timesheets and claims suggesting that Martel, a board certified behavior analyst and licensed mental health counselor, was providing services to Parisella's relative who was covered by MassHealth.
The services were for people with with Autism Spectrum Disorder and covered by The MassHealth PCA program. However, it is alleged that Parisella's relative was hospitalized or incarcerated at the time of said services and thus was unqualified to receive MassHealth services, Healy said.
The case is being investigated and prosecuted by the Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Division, with assistance from other organizations. Parisella and Martel are scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 24 in Essex Superior Court.
